Sonya LeclercDOMP, RMO, B.Ed., B.A., CPTS – Dedicated Personal Trainer and Osteopathic Manual Practitioner
Sonya Leclerc embarked on her journey into the realm of health and fitness after earning her Bachelor’s degrees in Arts (2011) and Education (2012). Fueled by her passion, she transitioned into the world of personal training, becoming a Certified Personal Trainer in 2014 at Goodlife, later honing her skills at The Station, where her client base naturally gravitated towards those with rehabilitative needs.
In her quest for holistic well-being, Sonya encountered manual osteopathy while seeking treatment for a challenging knee injury. Witnessing firsthand the transformative benefits of manual osteopathy, she delved deeper into the field. Subsequently, she pursued studies at the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto, earning her Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice in 2018.
Now, Sonya wears multiple hats as an osteopathic manual practitioner and a Certified Personal Training Specialist (CPTS) at The Station. Merging her dual passions, she established Foundations Osteopathy and Wellness, a testament to her commitment to integrative health practices.
Sonya advocates for an evidence-based approach to healthcare and manual therapy, treating the body as a sophisticated, interconnected unit. Drawing from her athletic background in competitive swimming and bodybuilding, coupled with years of experience as a certified personal training specialist, she possesses a keen eye for the intricacies of bodily movements. Her client base ranges from introduction to fitness and establishing basic health habits, to weight loss, strength training, rehabilitative focuses, sports specific athletic training, and competitive body building. This unique perspective underscores the importance of proactive therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions in the healing process, ultimately contributing to an enhanced quality of life for her clients.
